Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024: Results Announcement and Significance

The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections for 2024 have captured the attention of the entire nation, heralding a crucial chapter in the region's political landscape. The Election Commission has provided a comprehensive overview of the voter turnout throughout the election phases, revealing a breakdown of participation: 64.68 percent among male voters, 63.04 percent among female voters, and 38.24 percent turnout for the third gender.

The final vote count will emerge after tallying the postal ballots, which encompass votes from service voters, absentee voters (those aged 85 and older, individuals with disabilities, and those engaged in essential services), as well as voters on election duty. The Election Commission adheres to strict guidelines, ensuring that a daily account of these ballots is made available to all candidates involved.

As the results are announced, each constituency will see its victor declared based on India’s first-past-the-post electoral system. The candidate receiving the highest number of votes in each constituency will be deemed the winner.
